USK maintains a laboratory within the Department of Agricultural Product Technology that conducts studies on several elements of coffee. Additionally, the presence of large-scale roasting machinery in the lab aids the BPBU Team’s plans to develop a coffee business based on the idea of “coffee research.” Additionally, this is a step to restore the revival of Indonesian coffee, especially Gayo coffee, through research and assistance to farmers as well as providing educational opportunities for department students. USK Coffee already has a PIRT license with P-IRT registration number No. 5101171010345-24. Meanwhile, the halal certification from LPPOM MPU Aceh has been registered and is waiting for the Halal Auditor team to visit the USK Coffee production site. The USK Coffee business unit results from an operational collaboration between the USK Business Development Agency and the KSPPS Kopefta of Universitas Syiah Kuala.
